Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the minimum display distance?
The minimum display distance set in the TGO admin web is 10 meters. You can set it to a minimum of 5 meters, but it may pose difficulties for players. Furthermore, different phone models/brands will have varying GPS sensitivity levels. Therefore, to ensure fairness for all devices/teams.
Please set the minimum display distance to 15 meters.
2. What is the maximum video clip size that the Outing Team app allows you to send?
The speed of sending result video clips depends on:
The 3G or 4G connection bandwidth of the player's device.
The file size of the video clip, which depends on the screen resolution and the length of the recording.
The phone model can sometimes also affect the speed of sending results.
To improve smooth user experience and minimize issues/errors for players, consider the following solutions:
Emphasize in the task and game rules provided by TGO that the duration of video clips should be below 15 - 20 seconds, with a maximum allowed duration in the Outing app of 40 seconds.
In cases where the content activity exceeds 40 seconds, break it down into smaller clips and send them separately.
If a team needs a continuous and lengthy video clip, instruct them to upload it to YouTube/Facebook (as an unlisted/unpublished video) and then share the link with the referee.
3. How many devices can each team use to log in to the app?
With the upgrade version 1.2.1, each team is allowed to have one team code (6 digits) for the main device. Additionally, the app allows 5 member devices to log in using the main device's code. If there are more than 5 devices, it may result in network congestion, which can be disadvantageous for that team.
4. How long should the duration of a game station be set?
With the upgrade version 1.2.1, TGO allows you to set a countdown timer for each game station (starting from when the main device initiates 'ping game'). When the timer reaches 00:00, the send result button will be closed. Teams cannot send their results after this point, so they need to resolve the game before it reaches 00:00. Based on this feature and the complexity of the station's question/game, you can determine an appropriate time duration.
However, a helpful tip is to leave an extra 5-7 minutes for stations that require video clip submissions (to ensure the upload process is completed).
5. How can I edit the program while it is running?
Step 1: Go to the PROGRAMS menu
Step 2: Find the program file you are currently running and want to edit
Step 3: Make the necessary adjustments as desired
Step 4: Press the SAVE button --> the system will automatically update the changed content to all app devices currently running that program.
6. WHAT SHOULD THE TEAM DO IF THEY ARRIVE AT THE STATION AND CANNOT 'PING GAME'?
The referee just needs to press the 'SCORE' button afterward, and the team will have the game
